Chiefs are not among people in the polling centers – Chebukati
IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has cautioned the security arms that chiefs are not the people who should be on the polling centers. This comes after a public outcry from the team allied to the UDA party candidate John Njuguna Wanjiku that chiefs were being used as proxy so as to steal votes to the ruling party Jubilee.
In his statement “I mentioned groups of people who should be in the polling stations and polling centers and chiefs are not among them. Chiefs are not among individuals whom we have mentioned, whom the regulation 62 of the general regulations of the elections act says they don’t have chiefs as part of the six groups of people”.
He says this as the election of Kiambaa constituency is underway.
