Citizen TV followers drop after politicians allied to DP Ruto dubbed ‘Tangatanga’ marshal them to boycott. This comes after claims that Citizen TV gives more airtime to ODM group. Even the former majority senate Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen said it on the same televison station during one of the JKL Thursday night show. Many Tangatanga leaders has come out to condemned the act and urge their followers to avoid the station. Some have even given them an alternative TV station to watch for the credible news. Among the leaders who have come out to marshal their troops include Kapseret member of parliament Hon. Oscar Sudi and Kimilili’s counterpart Hon. Didmus Barasa.
Many of them has termed Citizen TV currently as the leading member of ‘githeri media'(Gutter Press). Royal media services chairman S.K Macharia is a close ally of the former Prime minister Hon. Raila Odinga. It is believed that this has led to the worry of the DP’s allies that he is working behind with the former Prime minister.
Citizen TV followers dropped by 2,000 hours after the politicians rallied their supporters to drop the TV station.
The leading TV station hasn’t responded yet as to why the followers dropped after the politicians urge their troops to do so.
