The former US president Donald J Trump has said that he has plans to share his thoughts globally through his social media app “TRUTH social” The former president was banned from Facebook and Twitter in January 2021 after he lost USA elections then started protests against the outcome. He would use social media negatively to air his views about the election outcome. Trump was removed from Facebook after 6 riots in Washington DC. He plans to counteract the tyranny of the big tech the way Facebook and Twitter is enjoying.
According to his plans, Trump said “We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. “This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon.” The former US president has said that he is going to form a new company and called it Trump Media & Technology Group. Mr. Trump also said “Everyone asks me why doesn’t someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!”
The launch of the company was revealed after the union agreement between the Digital World Acquisition and Trump Media & Technology Group. Trump Media & Technology Group aims at being listed on Nasdaq and so far it has seen an initial valuation of 632 million euros. This is a move that is directed towards competing with the likes of Facebook which enjoys market capitalization of 700 billion euros.
Testers are going to be invited to join the platform and start testing the TRUTH social in November and the platform will be launched officially in 2022. Mr. Trump is furious to Facebook and Twitter after his removal following the riots he engineered in Washington. The ban on Twitter is permanent while Facebook has banned for two years. In May 2021, Trump launched a site “From The Desk of Donald J Trump” but the site was brought down in less a month.
In July, Trump announced he is going to launch a case “class-action lawsuit” against the owners of Twitter, Facebook. Since he left office he has been criticizing the ban from social media as political censorship act.
