JKUAT student to beat DP Ruto for UDA Presidential nomination

Tracy Wanjiru is among the UDA nomination aspirants seeking for presidential ticket. UDA nomination and verification interview is underway at the hustlers plaza. The exercise has seen 3 aspirants seeking to battle it out for the party nomination. The listed aspirants include the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto, Tracy Wanjiru and Orina Jephnei Nyakwama. 23-year-old Tracy Wanjiru, a student at JKUAT University pursuing applied bioengineering has presented her documents before a panel at UDA’s presidential aspirants verification and interview.

They are required to provide national identity card, a coloured sized photograph, proof of payment of nomination fees, original and copy of academic certificates, and an updated resume. This is in respect of Article 31.1 of the Constitution which provides the process of nomination of a Presidential Candidate through the National Delegates Conference(NDC).

Nomination process is to determine the eligibility of a candidate as the Presidential candidate. The three UDA presidential aspirants has presented their papers to the vetting committee to determine their eligibility.

After the interviews, the party will unveil its Presidential Candidate at the National Delegates Conference(NDC). The NDC is scheduled to happen on Tuesday March 15th 2022 at the Kasarani indoor arena.
