Kalonzo: There is no need to join Hon Raila in Ukambani tour
Wiper party leader Hon. Kalonzo Musyoka has said that there was no need of joining Hon. Raila Odinga in his Ukambani tour. He said if he wasn’t with him when he visited Turkana, Garissa and many other places, then there is no need of joining him in Ukambani. Kalonzo noted that Ukambani governors did well to welcome him in accomplishing his mission at Kamba nation. He said Ruto was also in Ukambani to drum up support for his Presidential bid and everyone is welcomed. Hon. Kalonzo said “Tolerance is important” and it is very wrong to think that because Raila is coming to Ukambani, I must be there. Hon. Kalonzo responded to this when asked about accompanying Raila to Ukambani.
Hon. Raila Odinga visited Ukambani and was welcomed by Makueni, Kitui and Machakos governors. At the same day Deputy Presdient was also in Ukambani Kitui county to meet the people tour and drum up support for his bottom-up economic model. Kalonzo Musyoka said that he is a presidential candidate just like them and let him look for his votes from Ukambani and I also go to Kisumu to look for my votes. Musyoka reiterated that there is no jitters and fall out between them, it’s only that both of them are looking for votes as presidential candidates. Kalonzo told the press “maybe when we finish moving around looking for votes and meet, he will Kalonzo tosha”.
Raila is in the region to popularize his agenda for presidency through “azimio la umoja”. However, he hasn’t declared his candidacy but he said that he will announce it officially on December 9th whether he will vie or not. As at today, the candidates who have come out clearly for president’s post include the Deputy President William Ruto, Muranga Governor Mwangi Wa Iria, Dr. Mukhisa Kituyi among others. The race seems to be between two powerful leaders Hon. William Ruto and Hon Raila Odinga that is if he will announce to be on the race. In the past three days Deputy President William Ruto was in Raila’s backyard to meet the people and drum support for his agenda under bottom-up economic model. However, his tour at Kisumu on Wednesday didn’t end well as his motorcade was stoned by Kondele residents.
