List of Properties owned by Kenyatta Family
The founding father for the Republic of Kenya was Mzee Jomo Kenyatta and who is the patriarch in the Kenyatta family. Apart from being the founding father of the nation, he is also the founding member of the Kenyatta businesses empire. The generational wealth moved from one family member to another with younger family members being part of it. Former President Uhuru Kenyatta steered the generational wealth when he assented to power from 2013.
As of today, there is a discussion doing rounds on social media and even in real life about tax evasion. Speculations are pointing that Kenyatta family hasn’t been paying taxes for the entire time. This follows the amendment on the constitution to shield the first families from paying taxes. Yesterday in church, the first founding lady of the nation Mama Ngina Kenyatta dissected the rumors and asked the Government to auction her properties if she hasn’t been paying taxes.

Here is a list of properties owned by Kenyatta family;
1. Mediamax Group
Kenyatta family has contributions in the media industry through MediaMax which runs K24 TV, Kameme FM, Emoo FM, Mayian FM and The People Daily among many others. K24 and Kameme enjoys popular following. The family took over MediaMax from Rose Kimotho
Over the few years, there has been rumours that also President William Ruto has poked his hand for shares at MediaMax Group.
2. NCBA Bank
The family previously owned CBA bank before it was merged with NIC bank to form NCBA. NIC bank was owned by the family of the late Philip Ndegwa. At the merger Kenyatta family now owns about 14 percent of the new enterprise. Philip Ndegwa’s fmaily owns about 12 percent on the new entity NCBA. The 14 percent owned by Kenyatta family is about Ksh 6 billion.
3. Brookside Dairies
The signature of the family is the famous milk processor Brookside Dairies. It was established in 1993. Since then, it has grown to be the market leader in the milk processing industries. in Kenya and the region.
In 2013, Brookside Dairies acquired Molo milk for Ksh 11 billion which see the group have a market share of around 55 percent in Kenya. The acquisition was came with establishment of the 1500 litre capacity cooling plant in Narok. Brookside controls Delamere, Illara, SpinKnit(makers of Tuzo) and Kilifi.
4. Heritage Group of Hotels
The recreation facilities under the Heritage group include;
-Great Rift Valley Lodge, a luxurious hotel located 24km away from Naivasha town. It has 18 hole golf course, perfect view of the nature and its own airstrip.
-Beach Hotels, whcih includes Kipunguani Explorer in Lamu and Voyager Beach Resort in Mombasa.
-Camps that includes Mara Intrepid, Samburu Intrepid, Voyager Ziwani and Mara Explorer
5. Timsales Holdings
Timsales Holdings is a company that manufactures flush doors, block boards, plywood and fibreboards.
The company is headquartered within Nakuru county and has been the biggest supplier to Kenya Power with electricity poles.
5. Beta Healthcare
It is a pharmaceutical firm located in Mogadishu Road in Industrial area, Nairobi.
